The Eye of the Collector The Jewish Vision of Sigmund Balka May 23–August 10, 2008  Irving Amen. Many Children Dwell in My Father's House, n.d. Color woodcut, 23 1/2 x 17 1/2 inches. This stunning new exhibition features paintings, drawings, prints and photographs by more than 60 artists as collected by Sigmund Balka, with his interests particularly drawn to the work of Jewish artists. The works vary widely from nostalgic scenes of 19th-century Eastern European shtetls, to Depression-era social realists' paintings, to contemporary abstract responses to the Holocaust.
