A dozen artists from the region will share their Impressions of East Texas as the Tyler Museum of Art unveils its second annual Cascades Azalea Home Tour Exhibition, March 28–April 6, 2008.

The juried exhibition, curated by TMA Director Kimberley Bush Tomio, will spotlight 33 recent two-dimensional works by visual artists from East Texas in a selected new home located in The Cascades, as part of the luxury lakefront golf and residential community's Azalea Home Tour to coincide with the 2008 Azalea & Spring Flower Trail. Tour proceeds benefit the TMA and the East Texas Crisis Center.

Artwork will be available for viewing during tour hours of 10:00 a.m.–6:00 p.m. daily March 28 through April 5, and noon–6:00 p.m. Sunday, April 6. Admission is $10. Tickets are available in advance at The Sweet Gourmet in Tyler's French Quarter, and at The Cascades before and during tour days.

Participating artists in this year's Azalea Home Tour Exhibition are Debbie Cannatella, John Deaton, Dick Johns and Yvette Leihgeber, all of Tyler; Don Auderer and Frank Herbert of Longview; Arthur Sekula and Andrea D. La Vigne of Jacksonville; Alphatique Thomas and Ruth Thomas of Athens; Michael Cavazos of Kilgore; and Roger Goodspeed of Flint.

Other highlights of the 10-day Azalea Home Tour will include a children's art house organized by the East Texas Crisis Center, orchestra music from Robert E. Lee High School and other local schools, and a special golf exhibit. New attractions at this year's event will be an appearance by the Dallas Maverick Porsche Car Club, which has selected the home tour as its "Sunday Drive" destination for April 6; and a sampling of Godiva chocolates provided by The Sweet Gourmet of Tyler during select tour days.

In addition to the site of the TMA exhibition, this year's Cascades Azalea Home Tour will feature seven other recently constructed homes including two luxury condominiums in the new Cascades Lake Towers.

Sponsors
The Cascades Azalea Home Tour is sponsored by The Cascades of Tyler, The Sweet Gourmet, and Tyler Today Magazine, with 100 percent of event proceeds benefiting the TMA and the ETCC.
