Tyler Museum of Art Offers Trip to See "Angels"

Tyler, TX—Tyler Museum of Art, in conjunction with the University of Texas at Tyler Friends of the Arts, is organizing a tour to the Mississippi Museum of Art in Jackson to see Between God and Man: Angels in Italian Art on November 1–2. The exhibition of more than 100 works from various time periods, ancient to modern, is curated by Francesco Buranelli, Ph.D., director general of the Vatican Museums.

"This is the first time many of these beautiful pieces–mostly paintings–have been shown in the United States, and when this exhibition closes in Mississippi, the art will return to Italy," explained Nancy Lamar, director of development for the Tyler Museum of Art. "This is truly a unique opportunity to see this stunning artwork."

The tour group will leave Tyler by bus November 1 for an overnight stay at the Edison Walthall Hotel in Jackson. The group will also visit the home of famed author Eudora Welty while in Jackson. Cost of the trip is $315 per person for TMA members and $350 per person for non-members (double occupancy rates), with a $75 supplemental charge for those desiring single rooms. The tour fee includes hotel accommodations, several meals, roundtrip transportation, museum and home tour admission fees, baggage handling, and an escort from "A Great Way Travel Services," which organized the trip. Reservations and payment are required by September 28. Call the Museum at 903-595-1001, ext. 216 or email develop2@tylermuseum.org for reservations or more details.
