Museum’s Annual Fund Goal Within Reach

TYLER, TX— The Tyler Museum of Art is well on the way to attaining its goal for the 2008-09 Annual Fund, “laying the mortar for a promising road ahead,” Annual Fund Chairman Dr. Frank T. Ward said.

Contributions to the fund, established in late 2008 as part of the TMA’s year-end giving endeavors, have reached close to $18,000—well in excess of the halfway point for the inaugural year’s goal of $25,000.
“Times are tough for a lot of us right now, and that so many of our friends in East Texas have been willing to give so generously to so many good causes in such a period of uncertainty just shows what a truly amazing community we live in,” Ward said. “I never cease to be astonished by the generosity of the people who believe in this museum, who appreciate what an essential role art plays in our lives, especially in the indelible impact its programs have on educating and enlightening younger generations.”
Contributions to the fund are classified as non-membership gifts, and are fully tax-deductible. The Annual Fund supports education, exhibitions, special programs, and facility upkeep and maintenance at the Museum.
“It doesn’t matter if you can contribute $1, $100, $1,000, or more. What’s important is that money is going to broaden horizons, to enrich lives, and provide experiences that families can share across the generations,” Ward said. “An investment in the Museum is an investment in the community—and the future.”
