Adult Programs


Gallery Talks
Gallery Talks provide an opportunity for artists, art collectors or curators to interact with Museum visitors in an informal talk on method, material and meaning. Mark your calendar for our upcoming Gallery Talks!


Lectures
Lectures at the Tyler Museum of Art bring art historians and other experts to the community to give scholarly lectures in conjunction with current exhibitions, in order to enhance the public's understanding and interpretation of art.


Seniors Day
Several times a year the Museum opens its doors to East Texas seniors offering exclusive access to the Museum for those 65 years and over. Along with free admission (when admission is required), the Museum provides docent tours at 11 a.m. and 1 p.m.


Monday, September 14
Divine Kinship: Ancient Forms and Social Commentary, the Art of Jean Lacy. with docent-led tours beginning at 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. Complimentary lunch will be provided by Texas Spine & Joint Hospital; space is limited, and reservations are required.



Workshops and Classes
The Museum offers 1–2 day weekend workshops and classes led by local artists and educators, often in conjunction with current exhibitions, for adults (18+).

No workshops are currently scheduled. Please check back for future classes.



Special Events
Programming is designed to compliment exhibitions and enhance the public's understanding and appreciation of the visual arts. Films, storytelling, poetry-readings and performances of music, dance and theater are some of the exciting events presented by the Museum.


Speakers' Bureau
The Speaker's Bureau exists as a way to acquaint the community with the TMA. Through this free program, a representative from the Museum will present a brief slide show and talk to inform and educate groups on the importance of the Museum's resources. Please contact the Education Department if you would like to book a speaker for your group or organization.

Save the Date! What's New at the TMA
Want to learn more about the Museum's exhibitions, programs and activities for the upcoming year? This presentation will explore "What's New" at the TMA and how you can get involved.

TMA Collects: The Museum's Permanent Collection
The TMA boasts a Permanent Collection of over 700 works of art. This presentation will feature highlights of the collection, which includes paintings, photographs, sculptures and prints by some of Texas' best-known artists.
