Join us for a delightful way to wrap up your week. Meet at 11:00 a.m. for an introduction to a special exhibition. Then spend an hour touring the exhibition with a staff member or specially trained docent who will guide you through the gallery. Bring your friends or fellow club members for a memorable group event–ideal for senior groups. First Friday Tours are free, however, advanced registration is required. To register, please call 903-595-1001. (The Museum Cafê is open for lunch.)

The TMA invites teachers to schedule interactive docent-led tours for elementary, junior high, high school and college classes. All scheduled elementary classes receive a teacher's packet for advanced preparation and a 1½ hour visit to the Museum, including a guided tour and an exhibition related art activity. Tours for junior high, high school and college classes last 1 hour and do not include an art activity, unless arranged with the Education Department. All guided tours must be scheduled and paid at least two weeks in advance. For more information, contact the Tour Coordinator.

Teacher-led Student Tours
Teachers are always welcome to bring their class during Museum hours, however at least 1 adult for every 10 students is required for those tours that are not led by a Museum docent. Call in advance to schedule your visit (903-595-1001); advance payment is required for ticketed exhibitions.

TMA/TISD School Tour Program
This special partnership, begun in 1976 between the Tyler Museum of Art and the Tyler Independent School District, enables all students from two elementary grade levels to come to the Museum for a tour and an exhibition-related art activity. During the 2008-2009 school year, all 2nd and 5th grade students in TISD will have the opportunity to participate.

If your school or district is interested in arranging a similar type of program, please contact the Education Department.
